Overview
The National Headache Foundation makes their mission clear and simple: to end pain and suffering from headaches by finding a cure. They have extensive resources (both scientific and informal) that visitors can browse to learn more about headaches. Healthcare practitioners can apply for and earn a Certificate in Added Qualification (CAQ) in Headache Medicine through the NHF. You can contact the NHF for any questions regarding their work or organization or use the website’s search bar to ‘Find a Provider’ with certification.
Resources
The NHF site lists many resources including headache disease tools, tests, chart, and information specific to women and children. They also have formal resources that provide readers (both patients and practitioners) with scientific publications, webinars, diets, and studies in headache medicine.
Certification and Membership
Healthcare practitioners and patients can benefit from two accreditations offered through the NHF website: Certification and Membership. To be a member, one must register under the ‘Membership’ tab on the website. There are annual dues with different prices based on whether you’re a physician or patient. Regardless, you’ll receive a subscription to the NHF HeadWise magazine, as one of many benefits. Physicians may also apply to earn a Certificate in Added Qualification (CAQ) in Headache Medicine through the NHF.
Find a Provider and Contact
If you’re seeking a healthcare provider who holds the NHF Certificate in Added Qualifications, you can easily find the closest one to you through the ‘Find a Doctor’ search bar. The ‘Contact’ tab provides you with the physical address, email address, and phone number of the NHF, with a fillable form to leave them a message with any of your headache questions or concerns.
